Primary Purpose:
 

The ACE Student Ambassador Program is a method for providing leadership and workplace experience for Texans Can Academy students and tangible support for ACE functions.  ACE Student Ambassadors are offered special opportunities to explore their leadership and service potentials through an accelerated personal and professional development program.  ACE Student Ambassadors serve in a variety of capacities and participate in professional development opportunities to prepare them for their future careers.

 

The ACE Student Ambassador is a vital member of the ACE Team who, under the supervision and direction of the ACE Site Coordinator, serves as an ambassador for ACE to the student body, engage in recruitment of ACE students, clerical duties as assigned, provide evening meal service, represent student voice and choice, and serve as a positive role model for prospective and current students.

 

Eligibility:

·       Must be in and maintain excellent academic standing

·       Must be a TCA student for at least 2 Terms prior to applying

·       Must have exemplary attendance

·       Have a willingness to be a student ambassador for 2 consecutive Terms

·       Commitment to daily schedule M-F

·       Preferred – 21st CCLC or After School / Summer School Program experiences

 

* Continued academic progress toward each student’s goal is central to the philosophy of the ACE Student Ambassador position.  Students are encouraged to apply only if they believe the program and service commitment will enhance their educational goals and graduation without hindering academic progress.

 

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

 

1.       Organize and work closely with ACE Site Coordinator to implement the evening CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food)                program

 

2.       Ensure data entry and attendance input daily for the CACFP program

 

3.       Assist with delegated tasks from the ACE Site Coordinator

 

4.       Assist with clerical duties as assigned

 

5.       Organize supplies, materials, and equipment for center

 

6.       Represent Texans Can Academies in outreach capacities

 

7.       Meet & greet campus visitors

 

8.       Aid in the recruitment and retention of students

 

9.       Facilitate communication and create a link between the school-day and the program

 

10.      Attend all required meetings, conferences, and trainings

 

11.     Any other duties as required

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
 

As assigned.

 

Working Conditions:

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Standard physical activity such as periodic standing, walking, sitting, basic motor skills to access computer files for information or simple data entry. Occasional travel along with frequent prolonged and irregular hours. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate campus functions; maintain emotional control under stress. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
